EN 10277-3 Grade 11SMnPb37 cold drawn introduction
Free cutting steel 11SMnPb37 is a very-high-performance free cutting steel of excellent machining properties. It is unsuitable for heat-treatment. Deteriorating ductility qualities due to increased S-content and higher cracking risk have to be considered. 11SMnPb37 shows compared to 11SMn37 better parameter. Application for bulk parts in car industry, in apparatus and equipment engineering. As a bright steel product it is used in the form of bars, bright, straight, in various conditions (see DIN EN 10277 : 1999-10).
