DIN 17182 Grade GS-20Mn5 normalized or normalized formed (+N)
DIN 17182 Grade GS-20Mn5 normalized or normalized formed (+N) introduction
In comparison to the unalloyed cast steel grades according to DIN 1681, the materials of this group show distinctly higher values of the notch impact energy. As a result of their low carbon content (0.23 per cent maximum), they are well suitable for welding. By liquid quenching and tempering, the connection of this material to the micro-alloyed fine-grain structural steels, which this cast steel grade is to be used together with in welded composite constructions, can be achieved for wall thicknesses of up to 40 mm.
Equivalent material: DIN G20Mn5, DIN G19Mn5, DIN 1.6220, EN G20Mn5, EN 1.6220, UNS J02505, DIN 1.1120, JIS SCW480, EN 1.1120
