The non-alloy quality steel P235S is used for simple pressure vessels in the form of normalised or normalising rolled plates, strips and bars.
According the directive 87/404/EEC simple pressure vessels are defined as:
- every welded, cylindrical vessel with convex and/or flat bottoms made of unalloyed steel with internal pressures between min. 0.5 bar and max. 30 bar, used for air and nitrogen, not exposed to flames
- the product of pressure and capacity amounts to max. 10000 bar*l
