EN 10088-1 Grade X6CrMoS17 soft annealed (+A) introduction
Material X6CrMoS17 is comparable to X 4 CrMoS 18 acc. to DIN 17440 : 1985-07. The stainless free cutting steel is applicated in tempered condition as construction parts for machine processing, such as screws, nuts, fittings, axles, bolts, spindles as well as for magnetic valves. Application in water, steam as well as in alkalescent and neutral media. Corrosion resistance is due to sulphur addition equivalent to a 13 per cent Cr-steel.
Welding is not common.
