SEW 090-1 Grade S690G1QL quenched in a liquid medium and tempered
SEW 090-1 Grade S690G1QL quenched in a liquid medium and tempered introduction
S890G1QL is a fluid-tempered high strength weldable fine grained steel with a min. yield point of 890 N/mm². It is applicated for constructions whose behaviour predominantly depends on wear resistance of the material, e.g. wearing parts of mining and earth moving machines transport and crushing and grinding machines, scrap presses and other work machines. The usual thickness range amounts 3 to 63 mm. The lowest application temperature accounts for -50°C. The steel is processed by cold forming, at temperatures below the highest permissible stress relieving temperature of 530 to 580 °C. After hot forming at 700 to 1050 °C has to be coducted a retempering in order to achieve delivery condition qualities. The steel is combustible and electric arc cuttable subject to appropriate mode of operation. Flame cutting is affected by the surface condition. For product thicknesses above 20 mm is advisable a preheating to 100 to 200 °C in order to assure cold crack resistance. PPreheating to 100 to 200 °C is advisable for workpiece temperatures below 5 °C and if the thermal cut edges should be cold formed on processing.
Instructions:
The steel is suitability tested for the construction of pressure vessels and pressure pipes according to the regulations valid in Germany (VdTÜV-material data sheet 417).
Equivalent material: DIN TStE690VA, DIN 1.8920, EN S690G1QL, EN 1.8920
