EN 10277-3 Grade 10S20 cold drawn introduction

The free cutting case hardening steel 10S20 shows considerably uniformer properties of the cross-section and within the melt than semi-killed free cutting steels. 10S20 shows compared to 15 S 10 (DIN 1651 : 1988-04) a slightly higher machinability at relatively favorable ductility properties. Application for thin-walled case hardened parts in car industry, apparatus, equipment and machine engineering. As a bright steel product it is used in the form of bars, bright, straight, in various conditions (see DIN EN 10277 : 1999-10).
