ASTM A106 Grade C introduction

ASTM A106 Grade C

ASTM A106 is a set of standard specifications developed by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) for the use of seamless carbon steel pipe in high-temperature service. The standard covers two types of seamless carbon steel pipes:

  • Class A: Suitable for applications with a maximum operating temperature of 454°C.
  • Class B: Suitable for applications with a maximum operating temperature of 565°C.

ASTM A106 Grade C seamless steel pipe is widely used in various industries such as petroleum, chemical industry, boilers, power stations, ships, machinery manufacturing, automobiles, aviation, aerospace, energy, geology, construction and military industry.
